Summer Support Surge
Hello Friends & Family --
This past week, I gathered with NICE/Outreach Oregon & Antioch Bible Church leadership to figure out a way to reduce my work load. Currently, I’m working 7 days a week between a sales job with Kraft Foods & Outreach Oregon/Antioch Bible Church. This has me pretty tired, along with missing valuable time with the family. We trust the Lord to help us in this matter.
In an attempt to make some changes, we (leadership team) decided that I needed to find a part-time (non-ministry) job so that I can give more attention to the Antioch church plant as well as my family. My Kraft job is a full-time position which is the main source of the long work week. This change will put us at a home budget shortfall which we hope can be made up through missionary support. We are hoping to gain “one time gifts” along with additional monthly supporters.
We know that not everyone is in a position to help as a result of the economy or because you’re supporting other ministries that you feel led to contribute to. If this is the case, we’d ask for prayer support instead. It means so much to us that many churches & individuals keep us in consistent prayer. It’s very humbling & makes us feel cared for.
Areas of need:
A part-time job
Additional support to make up for shortfall
More time to focus on pastoring Antioch Bible Church
Increased family time
Consistent growth at Antioch Bible Church
Praise report:
A family vacation spot has been provided
Leadership has been added at Antioch
Zachary Nyborg made a profession of faith
Strong friendships forming at Antioch

Summer is Coming! – Outside Outreach
In preparation, I’ve (Eric) been leading an evangelism training class on Sunday nights at Antioch Bible Church. We’ve talked about the message, the motivation, proper methods, transitional statements, & how to handle objections up to this point. It’s been a tremendous study that we hope produces lots of fruit. This is a strong possibility as the core group at Antioch is very teachable & motivated.
We’ve (Eric) also have been asked to provide additional training at a retreat in the coming months. This has always been a dream & we simply can’t wait to get it scheduled. The hardest part will be deciding on what lessons to provide. We’ve created 7 lessons, but will only focus on three at the retreat over two days.
Prayer Requests for Nyborg family
For balance between work, church, & family
For a new job for Eric that is closer to home
For available time & resources so that we can take a summer vacation
For our kids salvation
For continued focus on the development of Outreach Oregon
For Eric’s safety when traveling

Nyborg News -- April
A number of months ago, the faithful at Antioch Bible Church made the commitment to pray for the various needs of this church plant. In addition, they kept trusting the Lord & working hard towards the goal of establishing a new Bible church in Hillsboro, OR. Their efforts have started to pay off as a number of wonderful things have taken place over the last several weeks.
The church has grown by a number of families, we’ve acquired a song leader, our Sunday night flock group has tripled in size, & roles are being filled. As a result of our growth, we are taking steps to develop the ministry by reorganizing the children’s ministry & hope to add a mid-week study. We also desire to intensify our outreach to the community through evangelistic endeavors.
Since Antioch is the first church plant for Outreach Oregon, we are tremendously excited about what has taken place. Our hope is that the Lord will use this church as a model for others we plant in Oregon. We labor to this end.
Prayer Requests for Outreach Oregon
For continued growth at Antioch
Outreach in Hillsboro
Finding church planting pastors
For physical strength to endure long weeks & for additional supporters. Currently, I’m (Eric) working three days a week for Kraft as a sales representative & four days for Antioch/Outreach Oregon. If our support increased by 80% I could stop working at Kraft. This would be a huge blessing to the family & the ministry.

Nyborg News
Last week, I sent out on my annual pilgrimage to Sun Valley, CA for the Shepherd’s Conference at Grace Community Church. I was encouraged by the preaching of John MacArthur, Al Mohler, Tom Pennington, Steve Lawson, Phil Johnson, and Rick Holland. I also enjoyed reuniting with old friends and making a few news ones.
In addition, Timothy Atkins (NICE associate) and I sat down for lunch with a couple of “The Masters Seminary” students to talk about church planting. I felt the conversation went well. Our hope is to build a strong relationship with the school with the goal of recruiting church planting pastors for Oregon and Washington. Perhaps, next year we’ll have a larger group of men to meet with.
